Dirty Hands - Out Now

Dirty Hands - Out Now

What is Dirty Hands about? A few people have asked over the past week about it so I thought I would write about it here:

This song was born of frustration.
Frustration at humanity. Frustration at myself.
Frustration at our repeating inability as a species to learn from our past. It feels like we’re a record caught on track one.
We fight wars.
We persecute each other.
There is often unwillingness to have conversation and understanding with those whom we disagree with.
And vice versa.
Yet, buried just under the layers of discontent in the words I can see a hope burning bright.
I believe we are so much more than our past has dared us to be.
We are children, not our fathers.
We owe it to ourselves.
We owe it to our children.

[Lyrics]
We're breaking down
We're breaking now
We got a fire in our generation
We got a shot that could save a nation
But we're breaking down.

We are lonely
We are bitter
With our dirty hands
We are children
Not our fathers
With their dirty hands
We are divided.

I'm guilty now
We've lost ourselves.

We are lonely
We are bitter
With our dirty hands
We are children
Not our fathers
With their dirty hands
We are apathy and aching
We are fighting our condition
We are broken
We are friction
With out dirty hands
We are divided.
